Sosialisasi Pendirian Bank Sampah Sebagai Solusi Dalam Pengelolaan Sampah Di Kampung Bendungan Desa Sukaluyu

Abstrak

Bendungan Hamlet is a village situated in the mountainous region of Bandung Regency, which has long been grappling with a serious waste management issue. Inappropriate waste disposal practices, such as burning and indiscriminate dumping, pose a threat to the environment and the residents' quality of life. In an effort to address this problem, we conducted a waste management socialization seminar focusing on the establishment of a waste bank. The primary objective of this research is to enhance the understanding and awareness of the Bendungan Hamlet community regarding proper waste management practices. The method employed involved explaining the seminar's content using PowerPoint presentations and engaging the village government, health cadres, sanitation cadres, and community leaders in the seminar. The seminar's content covered waste separation, types of waste, and guidelines for establishing a waste bank. Data were collected through interviews with seminar participants and observations during the implementation. The results of this socialization effort have shown a significant improvement in the community's understanding and awareness of the importance of proper waste management. The village government is planning to establish a waste bank as a concrete step toward utilizing the outcomes of waste separation. Waste management socialization can serve as an effective initial step in addressing waste management issues in Bendungan Hamlet. This initiative will help maintain a clean and healthy environment while also providing economic benefits to the local community.
